Many two wheelers do not wear helmets because of few prevailing myths like the following based on the research done by Prof. Dinesh Mohan who are done his 25 years of research on where a helment contributed to neck injury. “Road Safety” (check some of the myths and reality as below:
Myth: Helmets are not necessary at low speeds
Reality: Research show that falling even at 17 kmph can result in serious head injury or death
Myth: Helmets cause neck injury
Reality: On investigation of a large number of motorcycle crashes, Dr. J. Newman a Canadian Helment design expert did not find a single case where a helment contributed to neck injury.
Myth: Helmets reduce your range vision
Reality: Most helmets restricts peripheral vision by less than 5%, much less than many spectacle frames and googles
Myth: Helmets cut out sounds
Reality: They only reduce sounds, so does a closed sir conditioned car. You still hear horns and the sounds of their vehicles, as all ambient noises get cut down proportionately.
Myth: Helmets straps cause strangulation
Reality: There is no evidence for this from studies of thousands of crashes.
A turban is enough to prevent head injury
Reality: In a crash, the instantaneous impact forces are so high that turbans offer little protection.

In many countries, motorists are prohibited from using mobile phone while driving. Yes in all the countries across the globe. So many drivers install hands free mobiles with earphone. But even hands free devices do not reduce the risk of accidents, mentioned by the Sweden National Road Administration (SNRA) which has tested 48 people in driving simulator. Half of them had hand held phones or instruments and other hand free instruments. Almost there is no difference in reaction time was noticed between them. It is the distraction of the phone conversation is the problem.
So next time you driving and want to use phone , pull over and stop
