World’s Largest Single Rooftop solar power plant in India
India’s solar mission which has kept at a
target of 175 GW and the government is trying to keep its word to generate power from all kinds of Renewable Energy Resources. As it is focused on Solar, Wind and Biomass power generation technologies.
We all know that a roof is the zero cost of land and uses the space for solar panel installation. There is no requirement of a special setup is installing the solar roof. Depending upon the roof size and shading and direction of the sunlight is considered for setting up the solar panels. But, most of them have small or medium roofs that can generate in kiloWatts (kW) or Megawatt (MW) scale.
In Amritsar, there is an installation od 11.5
MW capacity of a solar power plant which is completely covered with solar
roof which will benefit 8000 households was built by Radha Saomi
Satsang Beas (RSSB), a religious organization in Punjab. Badal along with New
and Renewable Eninaugrated Rs 139 Crs project spread over 82 acres Energy
Resources Minister (Bikram Singh Majithia).
the plant will be generating 150 lakh units of
power annually and is expected to offset 19000 tonnes of carbon emissions. In
addition to this 8 MW is added which is developed in Beas Dera campus the only
campus generating solar power of 19.5 MW at multiple roofs. Going into this
methodology and developing the cost reduction techniques the grid parity can be
achieved through the solar roof also and decrease the load of the grid which is
helpful in reducing the grid fluctuations.
Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) had
created a solar power revolution in the state and highlighted the country and
its capability. Chief Minister of Punjab said that its immense contribution to
tap enormous power potential from various renewable energy resources was evident
from the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi awarded Punjab for being one of
the best performers in the country compared with other states for the capacity
addition of solar energy during Re-Invest 2015.
